Amy Sinibaldi's Playground

I am so incredibly drawn to the delicacy and smart femininity of Amy Sinibaldi's fabric, so when she asked me to make some projects to showcase her new line Playground I was completely floored. I'm really busy lately with a lot of life stuff, and working with this fabric was a total escape from all that.

My favorite make is this woven mod of the Flora Supply Case by Clover and Violet. I made the small version, and it's just absolutely perfect as a binding kit - but it also holds my WEFTY needles! I love this pattern, and the case would make a perfect gift for all the people in my life who sew. It looks amazing woven in the beautiful Fall colors of Playground, with He Loves Me Plum as the binding.

I also knew I wanted to make some solid colored, simple garments with Playground accents standing out as the pops of color. First I made matching Simple Skirts for the girls using the tutorial by Made Everyday and AGF smooth denim in Frosted Sage. I added a strip of I Spy Kindness to the bottom of the skirts for added length and color.

These are my first attempts at sewing clothes for the girls, and I'm so glad I started with something easy. They love these skirts, and I feel confident to try sewing more for them. I picked up a trick from Cristy at I Love You Sew and used the selvage as tags on the backs of the skirts.

My last make for this showcase, but certainly not my last make with Playground, is the Chambray Dress from A Handmade Stylebook by Anna Graham. I wove the pockets and used He Loves Me Plum as a contrasting bias binding. This dress took me no time at all to make, and I feel smugly accomplished after making it.
