Lecien sent me a Sushi Roll and right away I wanted to focus on the warm colors. I also had a Sushi Roll of 1000 Colors Solids and wanted to pair the Geogram Prints with some solids. The prints in Geogram include so many pops of so many different colors, it's impossible to go wrong. I grabbed some gradients and got to work on an iPad case with my WEFTY needles!
To prep the strips, I first cut the Sushi Roll strips in half lengthwise and pressed the raw edges to the center, then arranged the strips according to gradients that made sense in my head. I stacked them and pinned one end so my daughters wouldn't get them mixed up (lesson learned the hard way).
I designed an iPad case for the February Issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited using First of Infinity and a Lecien Freedom Zipper, and wanted to make another version with Geogram and a hot pink Lecien Freedom Zipper I found at this amazing ETSY shop called Gardensong Patterns. They ship so fast my head spun right round! Anyway, my first layer is all Geogram prints, the second layer is pinks and reds, and the third layer is purple gradients.
After the iPad case, I thought a case to store the charger and adapter might be handy, and I didn't want to stop working with this fabric just yet. During an exploratory trip to the amazing and local Electric Needle, I found the super perfect Tech Accessory Organizer by Indygo Junction.
At this point, I was just using up scraps to weave an exterior not even really sure I would have enough. I ended up going for the Spots weave pattern from Hex Weave & Madweave and stopped when I got about a third through the third layer because the spots looked like gemstones to me. I was pretty excited about this discovery! Someone on Instagram said it looked like super hero emblems to her, and I love that too! I used a purple Freedom Zipper for this and saved the extra seven inches of tape, as well as the pulls, with another project in mind.
I had just the littlest amount of fabric scraps left, as well as seven inches of zipper tap and an extra pull. So I decided to give the Macaron Pouch by Finally Sewing a try. This little pouch fits my ear buds perfectly, and looks so cute with the Freedom Zipper! If my calculations are correct, a feller can make three Macaron Pouches with one Freedom Zipper (because it comes with three pulls) so I am ordering some more zippers from Gardensong so I can make more of this adorable little pouch!
And here is my Sheboss office set up in action!
Thank you for taking a look at my projects using Geogram! Make sure to check out the other talented makers involved in this blog hop!
